Emerging from the Black

Once again i find myself working up pictures of one of the most colorful places on Earth and rendering the final images in black & white. Nova Scotia is such an amazing place visually and it's so easy to find oneself seduced by its rich and wonderful color scheme. But these are images that just call to me to scale it back to its bare bones and structure. Surely there will be many more photographs to come that revel in the lush hues of this place, but for just a moment i felt the need to explore the beauty that emerges from the black.
