It's not every day that a boat sinks at a Lunenburg wharf. The Primo had sat in this harbour for many years. Once a Clearwater fishing trawler, she and a sister ship had been destined for refitting to make island runs in the South Pacific, but the project fell through mid way and the Primo has been up for sale ever since. That other vessel, the Tiare Taporo, did indeed make its way to the Cook Islands for service transporting cargo and passengers. Why the Primo sank during a big snowfall this past week is as uncertain as her future, but something let go in the old hull and she went down quickly. More will undoubtably come to light when they refloat the vessel. In the meantime this unusual event demanded some documentation.
