The house on Indian Path sits rather comfortably between nature and nurture, the mowed and manicured front yard of blossoming gardens and well trimmed shrubberies contrasting perfectly with the splendid run of wild flowers and marsh grasses that lead down from the back of the house to the cool waters of the Atlantic Ocean inlet.
I had never really given this contrast much thought before. It's all one great big luscious beauty to me. One can even find some of the indigenous flowers occupying the garden side of the house, still wild in a sense, yet somehow not in their cultivated occupation. Their presence there helps to create a continuity of floral pulchritude that instills a sense of cooperation and peace between the predilections of man and the perseverance of nature.
