Weeding Between the Lines

A study on a theme. Weeping weeds wrap the rocky shore, playing hide-and-seek with stones and tidal pools.
There are so many varieties of seaweed in Nova Scotia and i find them all rather fascinating. I believe the variety featured here is called Ascophyllum nodosum, also known as feamainn bhuí, rockweed, Norwegian kelp, knotted kelp, knotted wrack or egg wrack. It is one of my favorites. I love the way it clings to the rocks and dances with the tide, flowing gracefully as the water ebbs and flows.

Chester Race Week 2019

Once again i have found myself failing to post images in a timely manner waiting for the proper words to come for the written aspect of this blog. However, photography is, in most cases, a fairly self-explanatory medium. I did post a few of these to social media at the time, but here, finally, is my full gallery from the Helly Hansen Chester Race Week 2019 that took place in mid-August of this year. Sorry for the delay.

This Flowering Land

This one was at risk of being lost between the cracks. It started as a blog about all the spring flowers blooming on my land. All these images were taking on my property here in Petite Rivière, Nova Scotia. This was the first time i was able to experience this place full-time in this season and it just kept surprising me with its beauty. But as spring moved into summer new flowers kept appearing, so i kept delaying posting and added the new ones as i encountered them. Well, now it is well into autumn. The blooms have turned to seed and the leaves are turning golden and falling.
I am afraid that i cannot identify all of these, though many should be obvious to some. Enjoy this look at spring and summer as the autumn moves swiftly over the land. Winter is coming, but we'll do this all again next year.
