Two Tickets to Lawrenceburg

So my first concert shoot of the year was Eddie Money at the Lawrenceburg Event Center. You might remember Eddie for his late '70s radio hits Baby Hold On and Two Tickets to Paradise. I guess the sold out house showed that Mr. Money hasn't completely faded from public memory. He was backed on stage by a mostly younger band including two of his children, son Julian on drums and daughter Jesse on back-up vocals. Perhaps this is just a warm up for his new AXS TV reality series, Real Money, which is due to appear sometime this later year featuring his entire family.

2017: A Musical Year in Review

Every turn of the calendar i like to highlight some of my favorite music photography from the previous year. Well, i like to, but for some reason i failed completely at this task last year. So while mostly from 2017, i have also included a few 2016 favorites in this mix.
I generally don't identify the artists in these reviews. That all happened when they were first published. Some of them will, of course, be obvious. Some you may have only heard of. Others are local bands you probably never even knew existed. But for me what makes a good concert photo has little to do with the actual level of the artist's fame or notoriety as much as capturing them in a dramatic moment of pure musical expression or intensity. Hopefully i achieve that from time to time.
